Post Capitalist Political Musings

I have started this blog as a worksheet for my own brain. I once heard the idea called "work product" on "The Practice" a show I loved years ago when I was very young. I want to document, in a sort of stream of consciousness style, my thoughts and ideas on politics.

I am actually at a sort of transformation in my way of thinking about the world, our country, society and the like. Ever since I was 14 and started listening to Punk Rock music, I have been influenced to believe in things not always popular or mainstream. They taught you to think for yourselves, seek out the truth and question everything, lessons I hopefully can take throughout my life to help me not fall into a rut so many other Americans seem to get trapped in.

When you combine that, with our former President, George W. Bush, and the way the media was in 2003-2006ish, you get a very big desire for Anti-Conservatism and Pro-Liberalism. You seem to forget, because Bush became so unpopular, but the media really didn't question the war until it was so painfully obvious to everyone it was run by a bunch of incompetents. The Katrina disaster segwayed into this and it became "cool" to hate Bush.

I was anti-Bush since 2002 (I must admit, I was only 15 though and maybe only following the lead of the musicians I had listened to) and people FINALLY started to realize that Bush was completely unfit to run the US and at best criminally negligent then if not outright evil.

As the Democrats have come to power, I have started to struggle. And this is going to be the major point in this blog: Do I buy into the Democratic Party or do I dissent from American Mainstream Politics?

Other subsets of this question:
Is it worth it to compromise my ideal society, for a society run by the Liberal side of what is the 1 US Political Party ("The Business Party")?

Is there anyway to fix capitalism's faults?

Can I believe in Anarchism, Pareconism, or any other sort of non Authoritarian form of Socialism?

How can I debate Mainstream political Minds when they view me as a fundementalist, radical, or other shock words thrown around by the old gaurd?

Its a very scary thought. I am not what you call "educated", atleast not by the mainstream version of the word. I did not attend college, even though I might go back to school (I am still only 22). However, recently I have been taking to reading every bit I can about Politics, Society, etc. I have been interested in expanding my mind and in addition to the "work product" of figuring out if I should be fundamental in my anti-capitlist beliefs, this blog will host entries about my ideas on the topics and my learning of these topics.
